Restoration of the Castle
Beginning of renewal
After the burning of the castle in World War II, the castle was completely unprotected in the following decades and as such, under the impact by other devastations. In the last two decades, the castle has begun to be systematically renovated with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia, the County of Istria and the Veneto Region (IT). In 2008, began the static renovation of the Annex of the palace, at the same time thinking and planning of the renovation and future purpose of the castle. Soon, floor structures and a roof were built, which have saved the Annex itself from collapsing.
After that, within the Revitas project the renovation of the square tower, stairs on the south wall and the ground floor of the Annex started. For the first time the function was given to the castle since access to the tower and all walls was provided, and a bridge was built as well.
Project KulTERRA
The last but most important project is certainly the integrated development program "KulTERRA - Revitalization of the Istrian castles Morosini - Grimani and Petrapilosa" with a total value of 22,594,779.13 kn, of which 19,204,801.29 kn (85% of the amount) were provided by European Union grants from the European Fund for regional development.
With this project, 5 floors of the palace were put into the function, each intended for a specific activity: a tasting and sales area, a gallery, a multimedia exhibition, a congress center and a wedding hall, and at the very top the Captain's Room. Along the entire palace lies the Exhibition of Old Weapons “Ferlin”.
The project started in December 2016 and officially ended on July 1, 2020.

Castle today
Morosini – Grimani Castle is today a newly renovated and revitalized castle dating from the 13th century.
The castle palace contains a tasting and sales area that brings together local products from local producers, as well as a selection of wines from the Vinistra Association. This approach strives for the presentation and support of domestic producers, and also emphasizes the gathering of the best Istrian products.
