National forum of heritage interpreters

From 08.-10.th October Svetvinčenat was host of the first National Forum of Heritage Interpreters. During the 3 days, we had an oportunity to listen lectures by excellent exhibitors in the field of culture, tourism, heritage, as well as various workshops, trainings and study visits to certain localities in Istria as examples of good practice of heritage interpretation (Dvigrad, Rovinj, Vodnjan, Raša, Šušnjevica, Učka).

The aim was to surprise, inspire, encourage and move the heir who hides in all of us, so we could connect and reach the goal of this forum, which is to connect creative industries, transfer knowledge through education and tell interesting stories throughout Croatia.

The forum aims to bring together people such as tourist guides, professional educators, conservationists in national parks and nature parks, curators-guides, heads of interpretation centers, tourism and museum staff, academia, private renters, regional and local government staff to present examples of good practices and new trends in heritage interpretation, culture, tourism, nature conservation and marketing.

A part of the program was also held in the Morosini-Grimani castle, where the participants had the opportunity to play the Escape Castle game and visit our Visitor Center "House of the Witch Mare". Among other things, a workshop for winemakers WINETASTING was held on Friday - WHAT'S YOUR STORY? -by DUBRAVKO FIJAČKO, while on Saturday Night ghost story was performed again - The secret diary of Mare the Witch.

Various creative forms of heritage interpretation, storytelling tours, visitor centers and the discovery of educational trails – was a part of a three-day program conducted by the Association Istra Inspirit with the support of Interpret Europe European Association. The forum is co-financed by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Ministry of Culture and Media, the Croatian National Tourist Board and the Istrian County Tourist Board.
